Jeffrey Dahmer Mugshot

The arrest of Jeffrey Dahmer:

He committed horrible, unspeakable acts for more than a decade. Not only did he kill 17 men and boys from 1978 to 1991, he sexually molested some of them. To top it off, he was also a cannibal! And he died in prison by the hand of a fellow inmate.

Briefly, he grew up in Milwaukee to loving parents, although his personality changed when he had minor surgery to correct a double hernia and his brother was born. Read more about Jeffrey Dahmer's Life and Death.

His family was on the move for his father's job and when Dahmer went from Iowa to Ohio, he had few friends by his early teens.

He said his tendencies to necrophilia started when he was 14 when his parents had a nasty divorce.

Nine years later Jeffrey met victim number two. His streak lasted for 13 years in which he lured mainly black men he encountered at gay meeting places.

His luck ran out on July 22, 1991 when Milwaukee police encountered a young black man, Tracy Edwards…

Dahmer confessed during the police interrogation but pleaded not guilty to all charges in court.

He was found guilty – and sane – on all counts by a jury that deliberated for only five hours. Dahmer was sentenced to 15 consecutive life terms, or 957 years in prison.

He seemed to adjust well to prison life but on November 29, 1994 while on a work detail with two convicted killers…
