The arrests of James Brown:
He was "The Godfather of Soul", who helped to develop funk music. James Brown gained worldwide fame for his musical contributions.
Although he was noted for his advocacy of education and humanitarian causes and for his push for civil rights and self-reliance, James also had several legal problems over the course of his life.
He was convicted of robbery when he was 16 and served time in a juvenile detention center in Georgia.
Despite a strict "no drugs" policy for members of his band, by the mid 1980'sJames was accused of using drugs himself and was accused of domestic violence.
There were charges of using PCP and prescription painkillers; he was pinched for possession of marijuana and the unlawful use of a handgun and was accused of assaulting a police officer and charging at an electric company repairman with a steak knife.
