She was arrested for possession of half ounce marijuana in Hawaii, and could have faced a month in jail and a $1000 fine but a judge later dropped the charge when a drug counselor confirmed she was clean.

Houston was later linked to drug abuse when she entered a rehab facility.

She died in an accidental drowning in the bathtub in a guest room at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California on February 11, 2012.
